Q: What format is GVI available in?

A: GVI is presently available for PC. (VST and RTAS) for PC.

Q: Will GVI be available for Mac?

A: Yes, GVI is being tested now, and should be released for the Namm show in January 2008.

Q: Can I keep my Dramatic Percussion license on my ilok?

A: No, Dramatic Percussion and GVI use the Syncrosoft dongle and licensing system. It's similar to ilok but uses its own dongle.

Q: Can I keep more than one license on my Syncrosoft dongle?

A: Yes, an almost unlimited number of licenses can be kept on one Syncrosoft dongle.

Q: Can I transfer my Dramatic Percussion license from one dongle to another?

A: Yes, but the license can only be on one dongle at a time.

Q: I can only get a few presets of Dramatic Percussion loaded before I "Max Out" my machine.

A: Most likely you are using the .gsi files. These are the files contained in the folder with specific names (Anklung, Waterphone, etc.) These files contain impulse responses like reverb settings etc. Each file loaded greatly increases the load placed on your machine. To avoid this use the individual instrument files contained in the folder called "Instrument Source Files." These files contain only the sample data and are much friendly on your cpu.

Q: Why does Digital Sound Works only have one library available?

A: We are a small company concerned first with quality and customer support. Additional libraries are in the process of production and will be available soon.

Q: Who is Digital Sound Works?

A: We are a sample library company founded by Todd Sorensen. Todd is best known as the co-founder, drummer and editor for Drums on Demand (www.drumonsdemand.com) He is also an arranger, composer, and percussionist. His work can be heard on National Television everyday. He has worked on countless film trailers and played on as many films. His lengthy experience in all aspects of recording and production have helped us in producing unique world class sample libraries.

Q: Why is Dramatic Percussion only available in GVI format?

A: GVI or Gigastudio Virtual Instrument is the most stable sample player format available. GVI was made available for licensing at a very reasonable price. This translates into lower cost high quality libraries for you, the consumer. GVI also has countless features, and the Gigastudio team invented streaming from disk giving them more experience than anyone else.
